Former foreign minister Walter Mzembi has been arrested on an outstanding warrant after skipping court in 2018 during his trial for criminal abuse of office. Mzembi was arrested on Friday, two days after his shock meeting with President Emmerson Mnangagwa raised eyebrows, not least because he was a fugitive at the time. Mzembi is set to be brought before a magistrate where his warrant may be cancelled, or the court can order his detention until the end of his trial.
