FC Conradie (39), CEO and co-owner of Gondwana Private Game Reserve, tragically died after being trampled by an elephant on the morning of Tuesday, 22 July. The incident occurred around 08:00, and despite the swift response of emergency services, he was declared dead at the scene.

Conradie, a husband and father of three, was a respected conservation leader known for his vision, mentorship, and dedication to sustainable tourism. His death has deeply shocked the Gondwana team and the broader conservation community.

Police have opened an inquest docket, and an investigation is ongoing. A family spokesperson described Conradie as a visionary and urged the public to allow the family privacy and avoid speculation.

His legacy as a passionate conservationist and transformative leader will be remembered by all who knew him.
