Ghazanfar’s Five-For Secures Afghanistan ODI Series Win Over Zimbabwe

Afghanistan’s 18-year-old offspinner AM Ghazanfar claimed 5 for 33 as his team cruised to an eight-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the third ODI, sealing a 2-0 series win.

Zimbabwe, opting to bat, collapsed to 127 all out in 30.1 overs despite a defiant 60 from Sean Williams. Afghanistan chased the target in just 23 overs, with Sediqullah Atal scoring a brisk 52 off 50 balls.

Ghazanfar’s spell, featuring sharp turn and a carrom-ball masterclass, wrecked Zimbabwe’s middle order. Rashid Khan added 3 for 38, while Zimbabwe struggled without DRS to challenge contentious umpiring calls.

Afghanistan have now won each of their bilateral ODI series against Zimbabwe bar the one in 2014, which was split.
