Zimbabwe is mourning the death of former Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko, has died at the age of 84.
George Charamba, the Deputy Chief Secretary-Presidential Communications in the Office of the President of Zimbabwe, confirmed the sad news of Mphoko’s death.
Mphoko died in India where he had gone to seek medical treatment, sponsored by the government of Zimbabwe.
Mphoko (born 11 June 1940) was a Zimbabwean politician, diplomat, businessman and former military commander who served as Second Vice-President of Zimbabwe from 2014 until 2017, as well as Zimbabwe’s ambassador to Russia, Botswana and South Africa.
