The police say today’s raid in Durban, where six buildings were raided netted 123 illegal immigrants, fake US dollars worth R4.1 million, 117 rounds of ammunition for different kind of firearms and alcohol.

Furthermore, one of the buildings raided was found to be a municipality-owned building, and it was illegally occupied.

A person who was allegedly collecting rent money from illegal residents of that building was taken in for questioning.

Two of the hijacked buildings were disconnected from water and electricity, which were connected illegally. One suspect was also arrested after he was found in possession of cocaine and crystal meth as well as an undisclosed amount of money.

The operation continues with police searching for suspects who are believed to be in possession of illegal firearms
