Tensions remain high in Mozambique as at least 16 people, including two children, were shot during a march led by opposition leader Venâncio Mondlane in Maputo. This brings the total number of people shot since January 15 to 63, with 3,516 injured and 353 reported dead.
Protesters continue to reject the October election results, citing fraud and demanding political reforms. Meanwhile, President Daniel Chapo signed a political agreement with multiple party groupings, outlining state reform measures aimed at addressing post-election grievances.
