HARARE — Afghanistan clinched a 2-1 victory in the T20I series against Zimbabwe, edging the hosts by three wickets in the decisive third match at Harare Sports Club on Saturday.
Batting first, Zimbabwe managed 127 runs before being bowled out in 19.5 overs, with Brian Bennett top-scoring with a brisk 31 off 24 balls. Afghanistan’s bowlers, led by Rashid Khan, kept Zimbabwe in check, with the leg-spinner taking 4 for 27 in his four overs.
Chasing 128, Afghanistan faced a spirited effort from Zimbabwe’s bowlers, including Blessing Muzarabani and Sikandar Raza, who both claimed two wickets. However, Azmatullah Omarzai’s steady 34 and a quick 24 from Mohammad Nabi guided Afghanistan home with just three balls to spare.
