Thousands of Zimbabweans voted in recent Mozambique elections alleges rights group

The Southern Africa Human Rights Lawyers (SAHRL) has alleged that 296,519 Zimbabweans illegally voted in last month’s Mozambican national elections and called for a rerun. The figure, outlined in SAHRL’s report titled Zimbabwe’s Interference With the 2024 Mozambique Harmonised Elections, claims President Mnangagwa and Zanu PF orchestrated the mobilization to support Frelimo against the opposition PODEMOS Party. The report also accuses Frelimo of additional vote-rigging strategies, including ballot stuffing and observer restrictions.
